Economics as a field of study addresses the challenges of scarcity. Most of the problems we face in the society are basically economic problems. The problems of unemployment, inequality, discrimination, poverty, growth and development, are all economic in nature. Economy can be viewed in two main parts as microeconomics, which focuses on individual households and businesses or as industries and the workforce; and macroeconomics, which deals with larger issues that affect the economy such as inflation, unemployment and economic growth.
In order to let the students understand and apply the principles of economics, they will be required to study the economics of Mozambique and carry out a research on economic in Mozambique as partial fulfillment of the course.
